OUR QUEEN BEES
The differentiation of our lines originates from the choice of increasingly meeting the needs of our customers, scattered throughout Europe and divided between four large macro-climatic areas.
Over time, through the exchange of genetic material, we have thus managed to multiply Buckfast bees from Sweden and Atlantic or Continental France, or Ligustica bees adapted to Finland's boreal climate.
Through the choice of mothers to reproduce (strictly selected in the macroclimatic area of destination) and those dedicated to the breeding of drones, we succeed in obtaining bees that overcome in the best way the long and cold boreal winters or the endless arid summers of the Mediterranean.
To meet the needs of individual beekeepers even more, as well as by geographical destination, we have differentiated by genetic prevalence. Each geo-climatic line (boreal, continental, Atlantic or Mediterranean is subdivided by prevalence of Buckfast / Mellifera bees (which we call DS - Dark Star), Italian (which we call GS - Gold Star) or Carniolan.
In some of these combinations particular attitudes stand out. This is the case of the BSD (Boreal Star Gold), which proves to be an excellent breeder and producer of royal jelly in environments other than its own, or of ASD (Atlantic Star Dark), which for its great docility is scarce propensity to swarming is certainly the ideal bee for practicing urban beekeeping. Then there are the MSG (Mediterranean Star Gold), which due to the rapidity of their spring development are suitable for pollination or the production of new colonies (such as new nucs or package bees) and CSD (Continental Star Dark), suitable for those who has the need to collect large quantities of pollen.
